Out for dinner

Last night Dave and I went out with my brother King and his wife Jessie. They took us to their favorite restaurant…Sakura! Although the Japanese food was more of a Chinese version of Japanese food….the atmosphere made up for it since we got to sit in our own little room. I must say, it was nice to be able to hear the people sitting directly across from me… something I have not experienced since we arrived back in the States. After hanging with King and Jessie for a bit, Dave and I stopped for some ice-cream on the way home. Thanks King and Jessie! We had a blast….let’s do it again sometime! Our treat!
昨日　お兄さんと　かれの　おくさんと　日本の　レストランに　行きました。　「さくら」。　楽しかった　でも、　おいしくなかった。　がかりしていました。りょうりが　ちゅうごくの　あじが　ありました。　ぎょうざと　とんかつと　やきとりと　甘かった。　えだまめが　おいしかった。ははは。　今から　おいしい　日本のりょうりな　レストランを　さがします。　この　レストラン人　ちゅうごく人　でした。 New Jerseyで　日本人の　レストランが　どこ　ですか？？？？？？　たすけって！　デイビットさんと　ばんごはんを　たべたの　あと　アイスクリームの　レストランに　行きました。　

Washington DC

Yesterday Dave and I took a drive down to DC for a job fair. Although we felt as though we accomplished nothing, it was nice to be able to drive at 75mph again. The drive was great.. that is until we hit rush hour around Baltimore! ahhhh!!!

デイビットさんと　ドライブ　しました。　どこ？？？ Washington DCに　行きました。　New Jerseyから Washington DCまで　三時間　ぐあらい。そこに　デイビットさんの　あたらしい　仕事を　さがしに　行きました、だけど、せいこうしませんでした。こんども　がんばります。

Cherry Hill Korean Market

Since we got back to New Jersey, we have not been able to find any tea without sugar in the local convenience stores. Today we decided to check out an Asian market in Cherry Hill. Although this market was mostly Korean foods, Dave and I were able to find some Japanese products. We are now on the hunt for a good Japanese market in the area.
New Jerseyに　日本の　茶を　飲みたい、でも、見つけませんでした。今日は　ちさい　アジアの　スーパーに　行きました。　日本の　たべものを　みつけました！　かんこくの　たべものが　たくさん　ありました。　こんど、日本の　スーパーを　さがします。　

Himeji-jo

Dave and I took a quick trip over to Himeji, Japan. Here we toured the city's castle with an English speaking guide. It was a great castle to visit, however, I think next time we'll go when it's a little warmer.
コベから　ヒメジまで　でんしゃで　行きました。　おしろに　行きました。英語で　ツアーを　しました。　せつめい　した　人は　おじいさん　でした。　かれは　しょうたさんを　思い出させました。　とても　頭が　いい　ですね。ひめじじょ　と　コベで　とても　さむかった。　ユキノさん　と　チカさんへ。。。。ジャケット　ありがとう！

Kobe

Dave, Molly and I spent 2 days in Kobe, Japan. The first morning we were there I took Molly for a walk. We left Dave behind to finish getting ready for the day. A few minutes into my walk it began to snow! It was a very light snow, but it was snow! When we got back to the hotel, I told Dave, but he didn't believe me. He looked outside and there was nothing! It had stopped already! Dave is still waiting to see his first snow in 3 years…we're in New Jersey though, so I'm sure it's coming soon.
コベは　さむかった。あさで　私の　犬と　さんぽ　するの　時に　ゆきが　ふりました。ホテルに　かえるの　あと　デイビットさん　ゆきに　ついて　言いました。　かれは　私の　ゆき　な　話を　しんじませんでした　だから　そとに　いっしょ　行きました。　あの時　ゆきが　やめました！ しんじられない！！　今でも、かれは　私の　話を　しんじません。　たぶん、かれは　すこし　うらやましい　です。ははは。。。

At the Airport

Everyone came to the airport to send us off. I was so happy that they all came to say one last goodbye, but at the same time I was very sad to have to say goodbye. I have truly fallen in love with Okinawa and its people. I have never met such warm loving people in all my life. I am sad to be leaving, but I know that someday soon I will return to Okinawa.
みんなさんは　那覇の　くうこうに　"bye bye"　言いに　来ました。　しょうたさん　と　ヒサノさん　と　チカさん　と　サキさん　と　ヒサノさんの　かぞくも　来ました。　私は　みんなさん　来た　から　うれしくて　かなしい　でした。　New Jerseyに　かえる　の　ことが　たいへん　です。だけど、いつか　沖縄に　かえるつもり。　わかります。

Farewell

Our friends had a going-away party for us the night before we left. We had one last time out at an izakaya. The time went by too quickly….. I wish it could have lasted forever.
かえるの日のまえ　さようなら　パーテイー　いざかやで　しました。私たちの　ともだち　来ました。　やっぱり、たのしかった。　いつも　ともだちと　の時　　いい　かんじ　ですね。いつまでも　つずけたかった。

Starbucks

It's been a long time since I have had the chance to update my blog. So sorry. The next few entries are from our last week in Okinawa.
A new Starbucks opened in Mihama. There are already 2 Starbucks in the area, but this one is a Drive Thru!!!! Dave and I enjoy ordering in Japanese, especially since we can read most of the menu.
