Trip to Okinawa: Part 1

This month I took a short 3 week vacation back to Okinawa. I stayed in Hisano-san’s family’s house in Yomitan. Every morning I woke up to the view in that second picture. Wow! I took a few walks alone in the mornings just to take in all the beauty of Okinawa and the East China Sea. Here are some of the pics from my walks.

Jon's Birthday

Dave's brother just moved to MD. Jon and Monica live only a few miles away now, and so this past weekend we went to their house for a B-day party for Jon. Monica made Jon a cake after a short lesson from Jon's mom. Not bad, huh? Please disregard the "dude" located in the bottom right-hand corner.lol

先月　車で　けいたいの　上に　うんてんしました。だから、写真　できませんね。けいたいは　こわれまして　新しいのを　買いました。今から、ブログできますね。じゃあああ、　先月に　Davidさんの弟は　Marylandに　引っ越しましたね。土曜日に　彼のたんじょうびの　PARTYに　行きました。ジョンさんの　つまは　マニカです。マニカちゃんは　ケーキを　つくれましたよ!　Davidさんの　お母さんから　ケーキの　じゅぎょうを　くれましたね。家族との　Partyの後　バーに　遊びに　行きました。

New Car / 新しい車

Last week I finally got my own set of wheels. Dave and I picked out this Toyota Corolla. Very basic, however much much much much much better gas mileage than Dave's Jeep.

エミリの　車です!!!　先週に　車を買いました！Toyota Corolla　です!　沖縄に住んだ時に　トヨタ を買いましたね。はじめて　でしたね。あの車が大好きでしたから　また　トヨタを買いました。

Package from Okinawa

Yestersday I received a package from Chika-san. Molly spent about 5 minutes licking the package.hahaha! I told Chika-san about a song that I really liked and she went ahead and sent me the CD!!! She also included some practice workbooks along with some "cute" pencils/erasers/sharpeners and pencil caps.

Today I stopped by the library and found some interesting reading....children's books in Japanese! YAY! They had children's books in many many languages. I have to say I am quite impressed with the library here in Maryland.

今日は　としょかんに　行って　この　本を　見つけました！としょかんで　日本の　子どもの本が　あります!　すごい　ですよね。３０まいが　ありました!　今週この　話を　読みます！楽しみに！
